Df(3L)PGRP-SBΔ5 flies infected with E.carotovora show reductions in mean lifespan compared to wild-type.
Homozygous Df(3L)PGRP-SBΔ5 flies are viable and fertile. They exhibit no visible developmental defects and do not differ from wild-type flies in longevity.
Homozygous Df(3L)PGRP-SBΔ5 mutants exhibit resistance similar to wild-type flies to systemic microbial infections with Gram-negative bacteria Erwinia carotovora, Gram-positive Listeria innocua and Lys-type Gram-positive bacteria Enterococcus faecalis.
E. carotovora and L. innocua persistence is similar in Df(3L)PGRP-SBΔ5 mutants and wild-type flies.
