In Doa^EMS-C/Doa³ mutant flies the leg segments distal to the first tarsus are often missing or are necrotic. The femur and claws form normally.

Doa⁷/Doa³ mutants where the Doa⁷ allele is from the mother are viable. When the Doa³ allele comes from the mother there are no survivors.

In Doa³/Doa^Su(Mrt9) mutants where the Doa³ allele is from the mother the flies have small, rough eyes. When the Doa^Su(Mrt9) allele comes from the mother there are no survivors.

In Doa³/Doa^γ3E mutants where the Doa³ allele is from the mother only males are recovered and these flies have darkened areas in the wing veins. When the Doa^γ3E allele comes from the mother there are no survivors.
