Detailed Description

Homozygous germline clones were viable but yield no eggs.

Lethality occurs during embryonic and larval stages. Some die within the egg membranes, others hatch but do not grow, they die within 24 hours after hatching. Mosaic analysis demonstrates mutant phenotype is non-autonomous.

Comments

Shows a maternal-zygotic interaction, demonstrated in males carrying mutant allele from heterozygous mother and variegating allele in the paternally derived Dp(1;4)mg.

Maternal germline clonal analysis demonstrates cell lethality in homozygous clones.
