Strong phenotype. Oocytes produced by homozygous females contain fewer proteinaceous yolk spheres than oocytes produced by wild-type females. These abnormal yolk spheres do contain some yolk. The adult hemolymph of homozygous females contains a higher level of vitellogenin than normal.
