Expression of H^hs.PB under mild heat shock conditions produces adult flies that have a weakly increased bristle density.

(Morel et al., 2001)

Adults in which H^hs.PB has been expressed during differentiation of the microchaetae show a double shaft phenotype in the microchaetae.

(Kavaler et al., 1999)

Causes a mild increase in the density of sense organs. In combination with N^int.hs, pattern of bristles closely resembles wild type.

H^hs.PB largely restores microchaetae specification to a wild type pattern in a N^l1N-B/N^Ax-9 background, and blocks the microchaetae effects of N^int.hs. N^int.hs causes other H^--like phenotypes in the wing margin, wing veins and interommatidial bristles, and these are all suppressed by H^hs.PB.
