klarmarb-BX3 embryos show aberrant lipid droplet transport.
In klarmarb-BX3/Df(3L)emc-E12 mutant eye discs, the R-cell nuclei are abnormally basal, instead of being exclusively apical as in wild type. In these discs, even though most of the nuclei are basal, the microtubule organising centres are apical.
The size of the salivary gland lumen is reduced in homozygous embryos.
Homozygotes exhibit a rough eye phenotype. R-cell nuclei fail to migrate apically, as in wild-type, but fall beneath the basal membrane into the axons of the R-cells. The R-cells remain basal posterior to the morphogenetic furrow. The cone cells, however do migrate apically, but not all of them reach the apical surface as seen in wild-type.
Homozygotes show defects in lipid droplet transport.
Rough eye phenotype.
