CNS is indistinguishable from wild type. No structural abnormalities are found in the developing embryo. Larvae exit their egg chambers and show no physical or behavioural abnormalities. 12 hours after hatching larvae start progressive accumulation of excessive fluid in their trachea, locomotion is slow and there is a delayed or sluggish response to both touch and light stimuli. All larvae die before the second-instar moult. Tracheal ECM structure is disrupted.
