Homozygous clones in the wing produce blisters of variable size which can be located anywhere on the wing blade. These are fluid filled in newly eclosed flies and eventually collapse as the flies mature. Veins and interveins within the blisters appear normal. Flies containing homozygous clones in the wing have impaired flight ability, even if the wings only contain small blisters. Homozygous clones in the eye do not disrupt eye morphogenesis.
