Mutant females are sub-fertile. These females often have three spermathecae (wild-type females have two).
Homozygous females are almost as fertile as wild type.
Mutant females often have three spermathecae (wild-type females have two). Females which have three spermathecae still contain two parovaria, although they are distinctly larger than normal. The general structure and content of the spermathecae is normal, except that there is a possible increase in the frequency of dying cells. No secretory product is present at the end apparatus of secretory cells in these spermathecae. The parovaria are enlarged in these females and their end apparati are highly swollen with secretion.
