      Homozygous tou1 mutants give rise to escapers lacking dorsalcentral (DC) bristles (1.92 bristles per heminotum compared to 2.0). tou1/Df(2R)en-SFX31 mutants exhibit an average of 1.25 dorsocentral bristles per heminotum compared to 2.0 in wild-type controls.
