Expression of GugScer\UAS.cCa in the adult eye under the control of Scer\GAL4ninaE.PT results in mild degeneration over time, characterised by loss of photoreceptor cells.

14 day old eyes from animals expressing GugScer\UAS.cCa under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PU display large autophagolysosomes in the degenerating photoreceptors. Many mitochondria show abnormal morphology, although they are hardly present in strongly degenerated tissue.

Expression of GugScer\UAS.cCa in the adult eye under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PU, aged at 29[o]C for 28 days, results in a significant degeneration of retinal tissue.

Expression of GugScer\UAS.cCa in prospective wing vein tissue, driven by Scer\GAL4C-580, leads to a substantial loss of wing veins and a reduction in wing size.

Expression of GugScer\UAS.cCa under the control of Scer\GAL4dpp.blk1 causes fusion of the tarsus in the legs.

Expression of GugScer\UAS.cCa under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PF causes a rough eye phenotype.

Co-expression of GugScer\UAS.cCa does not suppress the loss of ventral eye tissue caused by expression of mir-8SC1 under the control of Scer\GAL4ey.PH.

Expression of GugScer\UAS.cCa under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PU in Atg1Δ3D mutant eyes fails to rescue cell degeneration.

Expression of GugScer\UAS.cCa in the adult eye under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PU, aged at 29[o]C for 28 days, results in a significant degeneration of retinal tissue, which is enhanced by co-expression of Atg5dsRNA.Scer\UAS.

Expression of GugScer\UAS.cCa in the adult eye under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PU, aged at 29[o]C for 28 days, results in a significant degeneration of retinal tissue, which is enhanced by co-expression of TorTED.Scer\UAS.

Expression of GugScer\UAS.cCa in the adult eye under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PU, aged at 29[o]C for 28 days, results in a significant degeneration of retinal tissue, which is enhanced by co-expression of Atg1GS10797.

Expression of GugScer\UAS.cCa, under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PF, suppresses the rough eye phenotype of rhohs.sev-expressing flies.

Expression of GugScer\UAS.cCa, under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PF, enhances the rough eye phenotype seen in flies that express argosGMR.PC.

Flies that coexpress GugScer\UAS.cCa and aopScer\UAS.cRa, under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PF, show an enhanced rough eye phenotype, compared to flies expressing either single transgene. The third instar discs of flies expressing both transgenes are normal, suggesting that the effects observed in the adult eyes occur during the pupal stage.

The rough eye phenotype of flies expressing GugScer\UAS.cCa under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PF is enhanced in both an pnt1277/pntΔ88 and an pnt1277/pnt07825 background.

Expression of either GugScer\UAS.cCa or aopScer\UAS.cRa has very little effect on the extra wing vein material produced in flies that overexpress btl::EgfrScer\UAS.T:λ\cI-DD under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PF. However, this wing vein phenotype is suppressed when GugScer\UAS.cCa and aopScer\UAS.cRa are both expressed along with btl::EgfrScer\UAS.T:λ\cI-DD (all under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PF).

Comments

Expression of GugdsRNA.1.Scer\UAS in the L3 and L4 inter-vein region under the control of Scer\GAL4dpp.blk1 results in ectopic wing vein formation, which is rescued by co-expression of GugScer\UAS.cCa.

Expression of GugdsRNA.2.Scer\UAS in the L3 and L4 inter-vein region under the control of Scer\GAL4dpp.blk1 results in ectopic wing vein formation, which is rescued by co-expression of GugScer\UAS.cCa.
