    Detailed Description

    Reference

28 day old Bace2045/Bace5243 and Bace2045/Df(2L)Exel7038 flies show degeneration of the lamina, with vacuolisation in the lamina cortex. The flies also show vacuoles in the lamina neuropil and central brain. 3 week old Bace2045/Bace5243 flies show gaps in the rows of glia in the subretinal layer and most of the epithelial glia are lost.

    Comments

Expression of BaceScer\UAS.cCSa under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.PU significantly reduces the vacuolisation of the lamina neuropil and cortex which is seen in 28 day old Bace2045/Df(2L)Exel7038 flies.

Expression of BaceScer\UAS.cCSa under the control of Scer\GAL4Bace.5.4 completely rescues the vacuolisation of the lamina neuropil and cortex which is seen in 28 day old Bace2045/Df(2L)Exel7038 flies.
