Dorsal closure is delayed in maternal and zygotic Df(3L)79a mutant embryos expressing rheaE1777A.Ubi-p63E.T:Avic\GFP-EGFP. No defects are observed in myotendinous junctions (MTJ) integrity, intracellular adhesion complex (IAC) recruitment or extracellular matrix attachment. Embryos exhibit greater integrin recruitment to the membrane of amnioserosa (AS) cells and to the leading edge of epidermal cells that crawl over the AS.
rheaE1777A.Ubi-p63E.EGFP partially rescues Df(3L)79a
Expression of rheaE1777A.Ubi-p63E.T:Avic\GFP-EGFP fails to rescue the lethality that seen in maternal and zygotic Df(3L)79a mutants. The dorsal closure and germband retraction defects are partially rescued; a greater proportion of embryos complete dorsal closure, but it is delayed compared to controls.
