Inhibition (using Hsap\KCNJ2UAS.EGFP) of Scer\GAL4Ir60c.PC cells in larvae does not affect attraction to appetitive concentrations of amino acids, compared to controls; inhibition abolishes the significant avoidance of high concentrations of alanine, compared to controls.
Activation (using Mmmm\TRPV1E600K.UAS in the presence of capsaicin) of Scer\GAL4Ir60c.PC cells in larvae significantly reduces food intake, compared to controls.
Inhibition (using shi1.UAS at 32[o]C) of Scer\GAL4Ir60c.PC cells does not affect base food intake, but significantly increases food intake in the presence of high concentrations of arginine or alanine, but not lysine or glycine, compared to controls.
