      lgs2-8/lgs2-8 mutants exhibit severely delayed development, and the majority die in their pupal cases. Most adult escapers exhibit patterning defects, including proximal leg duplications, dorso-ventral polarity defects, and loss of sternites in the ventral abdomen. lgs2-8/lgs2-8 adults also show a decreased number of wing margin bristles (both stout bristles and chemosensory bristles) as compared to wild type. lgs2-8/+ mutants do not exhibit a significantly decreased hatching rate as compared to wild type.
