Description

The R91B01 enhancer fragment is fused upstream of the Drosophila synthetic core promoter (DSCP) followed by the GAL4(DBD)::Zip- hemidriver (component of the 'Split GAL4' system, contains the GAL4 DNA-binding domain). A Hsp70 transcriptional terminator is present.

Inhibition (using Ctet\tetX^TNT-LC.UAS) of neurons targeted by the split-GAL4 pair of Scer\GAL4^DBD.R91B01 and Hsap\RELA^AD.VT043920, or Scer\GAL4^DBD.R91B01 and Hsap\RELA^AD.R35D04, in adult males does not affect their ability to orient towards and remain close to a female, compared to controls; in the case of Scer\GAL4^DBD.R91B01 and Hsap\RELA^AD.R35D04, but not Scer\GAL4^DBD.R91B01 and Hsap\RELA^AD.VT043920, wing extensions are significantly reduced, compared to controls, with no effect on following of females.
