Ndg2 mutant adults do not show any obvious morphological abnormalities; homozygous females lay significantly fewer egg but these do not show any obvious morphological defects. Ndg2 homozygotes and Ndg2/Df(2R)BSC281 transheterozygotes show a significantly longer chill coma recovery time, but no defects in flight or climbing activity under control conditions, as compared to controls.
Ndg1/Ndg2 transheterozygotes show discontinuity of the basement membrane in the larval fat body. Ndg2 homozygotes exhibit significantly smaller lipid droplets in the larval fat body.
