dbf1/dbfz3318 or dbfz3318/Df(2L)Exel8026 males exhibit aberrant spermatids containing mitochondrial derivatives of variable size associated with nuclei that are also different in size and number.

In dbfz3318/Df(2L)Exel8026 males, one chromosome pair (specifically the X-Y bivalent chromatin) fails to condense properly; and there are a variable number of centrosomal foci and assembled monopolar or multipolar spindles in dividing spermatocytes.

Most S5-S6 dbfz3318/Df(2L)Exel8026 primary spermatocytes display more than two Asl-labeled foci.

dbfz3318/Df(2L)Exel8026 dividing spermatocytes exhibit an increase in the cilium-like projections size at stages M2-M3.

In dbfz3318/Df(2L)Exel8026 spermatids, axonemes lost integrity and the doublets spread, isolated microtubule doublets or triplets are observed instead of canonical 9+2 axonemes.

dbfz3318/Df(2L)Exel8026 males exhibit irregular spindles, with either multipartite or bipartite central spindles asymmetrically located with respect to cell poles in most ana-telophases. Moreover all the ana-telophase exhibit irregular chromosome segregation.
