General Information
Term larval DO2 motor neuron ID (Ontology) FBbt:00110228 (Fly Anatomy)
Definition Larval motor neuron that innervates dorsal oblique muscle 2 (muscle 10) via type Ib boutons (Landgraf et al., 1997; Hoang and Chiba, 2001; Meng et al., 2019). It is the second-born U neuron, developing from the second ganglion mother cell that differentiates from neuroblast NB7-1 (Cleary and Doe, 2006; Meng et al., 2019; Seroka et al., 2020). It has a bipolar morphology and a contralateral dendritic arbor (Seroka and Doe, 2019; Meng et al., 2019). Comment DO2 previously thought to correspond to U3 based on cell body position (personal communication from Matthias Landgraf - FBrf0221138). Now known to correspond to U2 (Zarin et al., 2019; Meng et al., 2019).
