General Information
Term adult olfactory receptor neuron Or46a ID (Ontology) FBbt:00067052 (Fly Anatomy)
Definition Bilateral olfactory receptor neuron (ORN) that expresses Or46a (FBgn0026388). Its axon branches, with one branch innervating the ipsilateral antennal lobe glomerulus VA7l and the other fasciculating with the antennal commissure and innervating the contralateral antennal lobe glomerulus VA7 lateral compartment. Its dendrite transduces signals from maxillary palp basiconic sensillum pb2. It expresses sNPF (Carlsson et al., 2010).
