Definition |
Distal medullary wide-field amacrine neuron whose cell body is located in the cell body rind of the medulla. Its primary neurite branches in the M2 layer, in the same sublayer as Dm14, Dm17 and Dm19 though its branches extend slightly deeper. The arbor resembles an ellipse, overlapping with that of other cells, and with the longer axis oriented at a slight angle to the anterior-posterior axis. It covers less than 10 columns. The arbor is located in a peripheral intracolumnar position. There are around 250 Dm15 neurons per hemisphere.[ FlyBase:FBrf0228639 ] |
