Description
Description
The Ada2/Gcn5/Ada3 transcription activator (ADA) complex is a Gcn5-containing histone acetyltransferase complex that regulates transcription by acetylating core histones, preferentially histone H3 and nucleosomal substrates. (Adapted from FBrf0242086, FBrf0247978 and FBrf0248705).
Notes on Group

Unlike yeast ADA complex the metazoan ADA complex contains a typical histone acetyltransferase (HAT) module (subunits Ada2b, Gcn5, Ada3 and Sgf29) of SAGA complex that functions as an independant complex with out any additional subunits. (FBrf0242086).

In Dmel there are two splice isoforms of Ada2b and the long Ada2b isoform is the exclusive subunit of both SAGA and ADA complex (FBrf0242086).
