AlphaFold produces a per-residue confidence score (pLDDT) between 0 and 100. Some regions with low pLDDT may be unstructured in isolation.
Gene model reviewed during 5.51
There is only one protein coding transcript and one polypeptide associated with this gene

The testis specificity index was calculated from modENCODE tissue expression data by Vedelek et al., 2018 to indicate the degree of testis enrichment compared to other tissues. Scores range from -2.52 (underrepresented) to 5.2 (very high testis bias).

Please Note FlyBase no longer curates genomic clone accessions so this list may not be complete
Please Note This section lists cDNAs and ESTs that fall within the genomic extent of the gene model, which may include cDNAs and ESTs of genes within introns, or of overlapping genes. Please see JBrowse for alignment of the cDNAs and ESTs to the gene model.
For each fully sequenced cDNA the DGRC maintains various forms of the cDNA (e.g tagged or untagged) in several different host vectors for subsequent cloning and expression in Drosophila and Drosophila cell lines.
Transcription unit defined during molecular analysis of the ASC.
The achaete-scute complex defines the basic topology of the sense organ pattern, rather than the type or precise location of the elements. Class B neurons develop when pcl is present, though it is not clear whether or not pcl is sufficient for their development as no genotype exists where pcl is present and all other achaete-scute regions are absent.
A transcription unit in the achaete-scute complex, lying between l(1)sc and ase. It is transcribed from the opposite strand to all four of the genes normally included in the complex, ie 5'--3' = proximal--distal. Its function is poorly understood.

Symbol changed from 'pcl' to 'Pgcl' (as of FB2017_04) to reduce confusion with the different gene 'Pcl' (Polycomblike, FBgn0003044). The symbol of 'pcl' (pepsinogen-like) was changed because: (i) it has a much smaller associated literature than 'Pcl' (Polycomblike); and (ii) it seems 'pcl' was originally named based on its homology to the mammalian gene, PGC ('progastricsin', aka 'pepsinogen C'), so including the extra 'g' in the symbol of the fly gene is appropriate.
