The testis specificity index was calculated from modENCODE tissue expression data by Vedelek et al., 2018 to indicate the degree of testis enrichment compared to other tissues. Scores range from -2.52 (underrepresented) to 5.2 (very high testis bias).

For each fully sequenced cDNA the DGRC maintains various forms of the cDNA (e.g tagged or untagged) in several different host vectors for subsequent cloning and expression in Drosophila and Drosophila cell lines.
The promoter-targeting activity of the Abd-B-PTS is independent of an enhancer's tissue or temporal specificity and can be "remembered" in all somatic cells in the absence of promoter activation. The promoter-targeting activity requires an insulator for its establishment, but can be maintained by the Abd-B-PTS in the absence of an insulator.
Abd-B-PTS may establish a stable chromatin structure between an enhancer and a promoter which facilitates yets restricts an enhancer to a single promoter.
The Abd-B-PTS permits distal enhancers to overcome the blocking effects of insulators in transgenic assays.
