Gene Snapshot
omega (ome) encodes a dipeptidyl-peptidase. [Date last reviewed: 2019-09-12]
Gene Group (FlyBase)
DIPEPTIDYL PEPTIDASES IV -
Dipeptidyl peptidase IV (DPPIV) belongs to the MEROPS S9 family, subfamily B, and is a highly specific dipeptidyl aminopeptidase. It is characterized by the release of an N-terminal dipeptide, Xaa-Yaa-|-Zaa-, from a polypeptide, preferentially when Yaa is proline, provided Zaa is neither proline nor hydroxyproline. DPPIV is important in the processing of a variety of biologically active oligopeptides and also in the activation of signal transduction and cell matrix adherence processes. Phenotypic Description (Red Book; Lindsley and Zimm 1992)
ome: omega
In the presence of homozygous omega, larval cuticle protein 5 migrates more slowly, irrespective of the Lcp5 alleles present; migration of the residual Lcp5 bands also altered. omega+ product postulated to play a role in modifying the Lcp5 gene product.

Structure
Protein 3D structure   (Predicted by AlphaFold)   (AlphaFold entry A2RVG6)

If you don't see a structure in the viewer, refresh your browser.
Model Confidence:
  • Very high (pLDDT > 90)
  • Confident (90 > pLDDT > 70)
  • Low (70 > pLDDT > 50)
  • Very low (pLDDT < 50)

AlphaFold produces a per-residue confidence score (pLDDT) between 0 and 100. Some regions with low pLDDT may be unstructured in isolation.

New annotation (CG32143) in release 3 of the genome annotation.

In the presence of homozygous ome, larval cuticle protein 5 migrates more slowly, irrespective of the Lcp65Ab1/Lcp65Ab2 alleles present; migration of the residual Lcp5 bands also altered.

ome+ product postulated to play a role in modifying the Lcp65Ab1/Lcp65Ab2 gene products.
