All domains of shot that were tested interacted with polymerized microtubules in this experiment.

Source was cell extract of S2 cell line; bait produced from transfected construct; prey produced from transfected construct.

Distribution of shot was compared between the polymerized microtubule fraction and the supernatant fraction containing unpolymerized tubulin. Two of the three shot domains tested were found specifically in the polymerized fraction, leading the authors to conclude that shot hasa higher affinity for polymerized microtubules.
