5-66a and 4-59 were generated as part of a collection of P-element mutants GAL4 generated using P{GawB} transposon insertion in a w- Berlin background. A total of about about 2000 lines were generated as part of this collection and maintained in UH's lab. Subsets of homozygous viable mutants within this collection have been screened for ethanol olfactory habituation, nicotine volatility, cocaine sensitivity, ethanol-induced hyperactivity, ethanol resistance, ethanol-induced olfactory neuron apoptosis, developmental effects of rearing in ethanol, and conditioned preference for ethanol. The expression patterns of 4-59 and 5-66a are reported for the first time in the supplemental data of Kaun et al, 2011. The location of 4-59 is 5′ of CG5630 is published in Eddison, Belay, Sokolowski & Heberlein (2012) PloS One 7(12):e51684. 5-66a was mapped to CG17019 via inverse PCR (U.H. unpublished data).
