Description

882bp HindIII-HphI fragment of upstream untranslated CecA1 sequences from position -760 to +62 drives expression of lacZ.

lacZ expression is regulated by upstream untranslated region of CecA1 from -760bp to +62bp. CecA1 sequence includes the R1, κΒ-like and R2 motifs.

Statement
Reference

Strong, tissue-specific expression is observed in the male ejaculatory duct.

In embryos, no expression observed in fat body or hemocytes. Embryonic expression assayed after injection with LPS (3-4 hours earlier).

In larvae, LPS-induced expression in all fat body tissue; high degree of tissue-specificity. Induction is achieved by injection of LPS (bacterial liposaccharide) into the body cavity; mimics response to bacterial infection. No expression observed in control animals not exposed to LPS.

LPS-inducible expression also observed in blood cell line mbn-2.
