Description

Transgenic construct used to characterize a silencer from the Ubx gene. Contains a reporter in which the 0.6kb Ubx embryonic PBX enhancer is fused upstream of the 2.8kb Ubx imaginal disc enhancer IDE which is linked to the proximal Ubx promoter followed by sequence encoding lacZ. A 0.57kb sub-fragment of a Ubx Polycomb group response element (PRE), with a mutation in the conserved core of all six pho protein binding sites, has been inserted in between the PBX and IDE enhancers.
