GAL4 driver sequences are expressed under the control of a dnc promoter (the same as used in FBal0065769).
Labels a set of 7 embryonic-born gamma neurons on the surface layer of the third instar larvae mushroom body and is already visible at the first instar larval stage. Neurons projecting to the visual system, the ring gland, and peripheral nerve glia are also stained.
In the mushroom body, ScerGAL4D52H of females, drives expression in the whole of the alpha and beta lobes, with stronger expression being detected in the surface and posterior subdivisions. In males, expression is also detected in the alpha' and beta' lobes, and there is strong expression in the whole of the gamma lobe. In the gamma lobe of females, the main body of the lobe stains stronger than the dorsomedial tip.
