Contains a genomic fragment centred on Rab14 in which part of the Rab14 open reading frame (extending from the ATG to the end of the ATG-containing exon) has been replaced with the GAL4 driver coding region and a loxP cassette containing Disc\RFP3xP3.PC and the kanamycin resistance gene.
ScerGAL4Rab14.ATG drives expression in some neurons and glia in the larval brain, as well as in the developing photoreceptors and in other regions of the eye, wing and leg imaginal discs. In the pupal and adult brain, expression is widespread. Expression in the adult mushroom body is stronger than in the pupa.
The PBac{I-SceI(FRT.Rab14-GAL4.ATG(loxP.3xP3-RFP))} vector can be used both as a driver expressing Scer\GAL4 under the control of the Rab14 regulatory sequences present in the construct and also as a donor construct for ends-out homologous recombination at the endogenous Rab14 locus.
