The progeny from da3 heterozygotes females and SxlfP7B0 males show a decreased female:male ratio as compared to the progeny from controls.

da3/emcAP6 double mutant eye disc clones survive in a non-minute background but lack neuronal differentiation. Neither ectopic neuronal differentiation ahead of the furrow nor ectopic morphogenetic furrow initiation from the eye margins is observed.

Thoracic clones that express sensScer\UAS.cNa, under the control of Scer\GAL4tub, in a da3 background results in clones that lack microchaetae. No neurons are observed in these clones.

da3 dominantly enhances the loss of eye bristles seen in flies carrying wgts.sev at 17.6oC.
