ft¹⁵/ft¹² mutants exhibit largely depolarized denticle belts.

Clones of cells in the anterior compartment of the dorsal epidermis of the adult abdomen (in the tergite) that are expressing ft^Scer\UAS.cMa under the control of Scer\GAL4^αTub84B.PL in a ft¹²/ft^unspecified background do not change the cell polarity of cells surrounding the clone.

Homozygous larvae and transheterozygotes in combination with ft⁸ have overgrown imaginal discs and die at the pupal stage.

ds^UAO71 ft¹⁵ double mutants exhibit largely depolarized denticle belts (with rows 5 and 6 more disturbed than in ds^UAO71 mutants). In addition to the orientation defects, the rows partially lose their distinctive characteristics.

The reversal of cell polarity phenotype that is seen in cells anterior to clones in the anterior compartment of the dorsal epidermis of the adult abdomen (in the tergite) where the clones are expressing fz^Scer\UAS.cUa under the control of Scer\GAL4^αTub84B.PL shows a longer range if the clones are induced in a ft¹²/ft^unspecified background compared to a wild-type background.
