Detailed Description
Statement
Reference

More than 90% of flies lack the anterior notopleural, postvertical and ocellar bristles. More than 10% of flies lack the anterior orbital bristles. The humeral, presutural, anterior postalar, anterior supraalar, scutellar, posterior postalar and posterior supraalar bristles are present.

Slight sc; removes coxals, ocellars, first and second orbitals, postverticals, and anterior notopleurals. Scutellars and sternitals not affected. RK1.

Flies lack the ANP macrochaetae, tr2 sensilla trichiodea and at least two of the three sensilla campaniformia on the ANWP. The ANWP and ANP clusters are absent and the APA cluster is reduced. The level of protein in the tegula and PNP clusters is also reduced.

Absence or strong reduction of a prominent spot located on the notopleural region of the third larval instar wing disc.

Additional Comments
Genetic Interactions
Statement
Reference

In female D.simulans/D.melanogaster hybrids heterozygous for sc6 the anterior notopleural bristle and the anterior postalar bristle are lost at a very high frequency compared to female D.simulans/D.melanogaster hybrid controls, when grown at 25oC. There is no increase in bristle loss at 18oC.
