The mesothorax phenotype is reduced in combination with RpII215Ubl or RpS174. The dominant wing phenotype is 100% penetrant, occurring in the posterior and anterior compartment. UbxCbx-M1/Ubx195 transheterozygotes show transformation of T3p towards T2p, and A1a towards T3a.

Phenotype is fully penetrant in heterozygotes, and shows constant specificity, affecting the wing margin dorsally and ventrally in both anterior and posterior compartments. Double heterozygotes between UbxCbx-M1 and Ubx alleles show strong bithoraxoid and postbithorax phenotypes.

Mesothoracic phenotype does not vary in the presence of extra copies of the bithorax complex, or with homologous chromosomes with breaks proximal to the bithorax complex.

The Cbx mesothorax phenotype is reduced in a number of Cbx mutations in combination with RpII215Ubl. This reduction of the Cbx phenotype follows the order: UbxCbx-Hm > UbxCbx-2RM = UbxCbx-2 = UbxCbx-M1 > UbxCbx-1RM = UbxCbx-1 = UbxCbx-3 = UbxCbx-Twt. The Cbx mesothorax phenotype is reduced in a number of Cbx mutations in combination with RpS174. This reduction of the Cbx phenotype follows the order: UbxCbx-2RM > UbxCbx-2 = UbxCbx-M1 > UbxCbx-1 = UbxCbx-1RM.
