Abd-BM3 male mutant clones exhibit transformation of the tiny A8 segment into an anterior abdominal segment.

Adult females have eight abdominal segments, lack genitalia and (occasionally) analia. Males have eight abdominal segments and retain both genitalia and analia. In these flies parasegment 13 is transformed towards 10 while parasegment 14 is unaffected. Embryos lack posterior spiracles.

Reduced penetrance of head defect phenotype when in trans with Abd-Biab9-tuh-3.

A5-A8 are transformed to A4, females lack genitalia, and there is a weak haploinsufficient transformation of A5-A8. Parasegments 10-13 are transformed to parasegment 9 in embryos.
