Detailed Description

Flies carrying phl::tor12D.hs.sev have a rough eye phenotype.

Adults exhibit a rough eye phenotype that cannot be suppressed by heterozygosity for Jra (Jra76-19).

Homozygous 14-3-3ΞΆE16 clones are recovered in flies carrying phl::tor12D.hs.sev, but not in a wild-type background.

Rough eye phenotype due to the recruitment of multiple R7 photoreceptor cells.

Rough eye phenotype is slightly suppressed by JrabZIP.hs.sev.T:Ivir\HA1.

Removal of one copy of Hsp83 prevents the recruitment of additional R7 cells caused by phl::tor12D.hs.sev, reverting the phenotype to almost wild type and introduction of Hsp83+t7.5 or Hsp83hs.2sev results in the reappearance of additional R7 cells. Hsp83e6D interact genetically with the phl::tor12D.hs.sev, other E(sev) Hsp83 mutations fail to interact.

Eye phenotype enhanced by alleles of S. Eye phenotype suppressed by alleles of lilli, rl and phyl.

Enhancer of the dosage-dependent (two or more copies of P{sev-svp1} or P{sev-svp2}) transformation of cone cells into R7 photoreceptors and at a lower frequency R7 cells into outer photoreceptors.

Rough eye phenotype of phl::tor12D.hs.sev is almost completely eliminated by phyl mutants.

The recruitment of multiple R7 cells caused by phl::tor12D.hs.sev is suppressed in phl::tor12D.hs.sev; Df(2R)rl10a/+ flies, which have smooth eyes with a greatly reduced number of R7 cells.
