Wing hairs of pkpk-sple-14 mutants display moderate polarity defects across the wing.
In pkpk-sple-14 mutant pupae, the mitotic spindles of dividing sensory organ precursor cells in the developing notum are not aligned with the anterior-posterior axis, but instead are randomly oriented.
Causes no embryonic phenotype even when homozygous mutant embryos develop from homozygous mutant mothers. Has a weak polarity phenotype in the wing, notum, abdomen, eye and legs. Denticle belt morphology and denticle orientation remains wild-type.
