Clonal analysis indicates that the rate of proliferation in imaginal discs is reduced to approximately 63% of wild type in homozygous clones.

Twin spot analysis demonstrates a reduction of the proliferation rate. Anterior and posterior structures are defective in some embryos derived from homozygous germ line clones, others exhibit poor cuticle development.
