      At 25oC Scer\GAL430A induced expression results in increased growth of the anterior compartment causing duplicated notal structures and duplication of the anterior wing blade. Scer\GAL4ptc-559.1 induced expression alters the specification of ectodermal cells, revealed in the altered patterns of ventral denticles. Scer\GAL4hs.PB induced expression following a 20 minute heat shock 8 hours after fertilisation causes elimination of the posterior most row of denticles and the elimination of type 3o dorsal hairs and the expansion of region 2o. Scer\GAL4en-e16E induced expression also eliminates the posterior most row of denticles.
