S391L
Site of nucleotide substitution in mutant inferred by FlyBase based on reported amino acid change.
No neoplastic transformation is seen in slmb1 mutant wing disc clones.
Homozygous clones in the wing induce the formation of supernumerary wings. Within the supernumerary wing, the homozygous cells form ectopic vein 3. Vein structures within the supernumerary wing are often incomplete.
slmb1/slmb2 transheterozygotes carrying a single copy of slmbαTub84B.PJ are viable and show normal morphology, 5-10% of adults exhibit duplication of the haltere. Cells of clones proliferate normally and cause a repertoire of phenotypes characteristic of ectopic activation of the hh signalling pathway. Clone in the wing generate supernumerary 'double-anterior' wings and clones in the foreleg generate supernumerary forelegs composed of mirror-symmetric anterior structures. slmb1/slmb2 and slmb1/slmb00295 transheterozygotes and heterozygotes with Df(3R)e-R1 are pupal lethal.
slmb2/slmb1 is rescued by slmbαTub84B.PJ
