Detailed Description
Statement

Heterozygotes have wing notches of variable extent.

Shifting hepCA; Scer\GAL4en-e16E; Scer\GAL80ts.αTub84B flies to the none permissive temperature for Scer\GAL80ts.αTub84B induces expression of cell death markers in the posterior compartment of the wing disc by 22 hours after the shift.

10% of heterozygous flies lack part of the wing.

hepCA heterozygotes show notching of the wing in less than 10% of cases. Massive cell death is seen in both the proximal and distal wing primordia in the hepCA late third larval instar wing disc.

Additional Comments
Genetic Interactions
Statement
Reference

The loss of wing tissue seen in some hepCA/+ flies is rescued by Cka2/+.

Dominantly enhances the wing notching phenotype of dppd8/dpphr56, tkv7/tkv427 or biomb-1/Y flies; a wide region of the wing blade is lost, leaving only the base of the wing.
