      Ubiquitous expression of mei-S332Scer\UAS.T:Avic\GFP-S65T driven by Scer\GAL4hs.PB is lethal. When mei-S332Scer\UAS.T:Avic\GFP-S65T is expressed in imaginal discs by Scer\GAL469B there is a dramatic increase in apoptosis. In the wing disc double the number of acridine-orange staining clusters are seen, that are also larger than those seen in wild-type. However the size and morphology of wing discs are normal. Neuroblasts exhibit an increased mitotic index, a decrease in anaphase frequency and a lower than wild-type frequency of precocious separation of sister chromatids.
