      Expression of Pka-R1Δ.Scer\UAS.T:Ivir\HA1 under the control of either Scer\GAL4KO5 or Scer\GAL4RK5 results in lethality in most lines tested, but in the P{UAS-HA-Pka-R1.Δ}21.3 line adult flies with an abnormal sheen to the cuticle, melanisation of the thorax and crossed scutellar bristles are seen. Expression of Pka-R1Δ.Scer\UAS.T:Ivir\HA1 under the control of Scer\GAL4RZ4 results in few adult flies. The survivors have wing duplications. Expression of Pka-R1Δ.Scer\UAS.T:Ivir\HA1 under the control of Scer\GAL4RZ4 using the P{UAS-HA-Pka-R1.Δ}21.3 line results in a significant number of adults, about 50% of which have a very weak expansion of the anterior wing margin. Expression of P{UAS-HA-Pka-R1.Δ}21.3 under the control of Scer\GAL4h-1J3 results in pharate adults with knobbly legs.
