Expression of SmBScer\UAS.P\T.cAa under the control of Scer\GAL4tub.PU rescues the lethality of SmBBG02775/SmBSH0509 with an efficiency of 61%.

Expression of SmBR1-7.Scer\UAS.P\T under the control of Scer\GAL4tub.PU rescues the lethality of SmBBG02775/SmBSH0509 with an efficiency of 32%. However, all the rescued flies are completely agametic. Although germ cells can migrate through the midgut epithelium in these embryos, they are unable to coalesce with the gonadal mesoderm.

Expression of SmBR1-7K.Scer\UAS.P\T under the control of Scer\GAL4tub.PU rescues the lethality of SmBBG02775/SmBSH0509 with an efficiency of 28%. However, all the rescued flies are completely agametic. Although germ cells can migrate through the midgut epithelium in these embryos, they are unable to coalesce with the gonadal mesoderm.

Expression of SmBR4-7.Scer\UAS.P\T under the control of Scer\GAL4tub.PU rescues the lethality of SmBBG02775/SmBSH0509 with an efficiency of 37%. Rescued females have smaller ovaries than normal and contain mostly previtellogenic egg chambers. Most egg chambers that have reached the end of previtellogenic development show signs of degeneration, including a condensed nuclear morphology. Embryos derived from the few eggs laid by the rescued females build a normal layer of blastoderm cells, but fail to form pole cells.

Expression of SmBR4-7K.Scer\UAS.P\T under the control of Scer\GAL4tub.PU rescues the lethality of SmBBG02775/SmBSH0509 with an efficiency of 30%. Rescued females have smaller ovaries than normal and contain mostly previtellogenic egg chambers. Most egg chambers that have reached the end of previtellogenic development show signs of degeneration, including a condensed nuclear morphology.

Expression of SmBR1-3K.Scer\UAS.P\T under the control of Scer\GAL4tub.PU rescues the lethality of SmBBG02775/SmBSH0509 with an efficiency of 27%. The rescued animals have no gametes.
