UASt regulatory sequences drive expression of H amino acids 1 to 1070, eliminating the last 7 codons (PLNLSKH) which removes the CtBP interaction domain. The VP16 activation domain (codons 414 to 491) is fused downstream of the H sequences (separated by a KpnI site).
Expression of HΔC.Scer\UAS.T:Hsim\VP16 under the control of Scer\GAL4sca-537.4 results in some partial bristle socket-to-shaft conversions, but most sockets appear normal.
