Detailed Description
Statement

savshrp-3 mutants produce overgrown adult eyes.

Mosaic animals in which the head is homozygous for savshrp-3 (made using the "eyFLP" technique) have enlarged heads, but patterning of the head cuticle is unaffected. The heads have folded head cuticle. Clones in the thorax result in overgrowth and clones in the haltere result in much larger halteres than normal. The number of cells in clones in the third larval instar wing disc is almost always larger than the number of cells in their wild-type twin clones. Cells in the mutant clones are normal in size.
