C415Y
Site of nucleotide substitution in mutant inferred by FlyBase based on reported amino acid change.
As early as 3 days after clone induction, no Diap122-8S mutant clones are observed in the female germline stem cell niche, while wild-type control clones are recovered in 15% of the germaria examined.
Somatic clones of th22-8S homozygous cells in the wing disc express a cell death marker 18 hours after induction and are lost from the disc by 72 hours after induction. Despite this increased cell death, the resulting adults have normal wings.
BacA\p35UAS.cHa, Diap122-8S, Scer\GAL4ey.PH has hyperplasia | somatic clone phenotype
BacA\p35UAS.cHa, Diap122-8S, Scer\GAL4en-e16E has hyperplasia | somatic clone | cell non-autonomous phenotype
BacA\p35UAS.cHa, Diap122-8S, Scer\GAL4en-e16E has hyperplasia | somatic clone | larval stage phenotype
BacA\p35UAS.cHa, Diap122-8S, Scer\GAL4en-e16E has abnormal size | somatic clone | larval stage phenotype
BacA\p35UAS.cHa, Diap122-8S, Scer\GAL4ey.PH has eye | somatic clone phenotype
Survival of th22-8S homozygous somatic clones induced in the posterior compartment of the wing disc is rescued by BacA\p35Scer\UAS.cHa; Scer\GAL4en-e16E. This is accompanied by an increase in proliferation of cells of the posterior compartment (as measure by BrdU incorporation), an effect seen most strongly in cells surrounding the clones. The resulting wing discs have a posterior compartment significantly larger than wild-type at late third instar.
th22-8S homozygous somatic clones induced in the eye disc in the presence of BacA\p35Scer\UAS.cHa; Scer\GAL4ey.PH cause outgrowths in the adult eye.
