Expression of ScmSPM.Scer\UAS.T:Ivir\HA1 under the control of Scer\GAL471B results in mild crumpling of the wing. Expression of ScmSPM.Scer\UAS.T:Ivir\HA1 under the control of Scer\GAL4A9 results in dramatically reduced wings. The reduced wing phenotype seen in animals expressing ScmSPM.Scer\UAS.T:Ivir\HA1 under the control of Scer\GAL4A9 is substantially suppressed by coexpression of ScmScer\UAS.T:Ivir\HA1. The penetrance of severe wing types seen in animals expressing ScmSPM.Scer\UAS.T:Ivir\HA1 under the control of Scer\GAL4A9 is enhanced in a ScmH1/+ background. Expression of ScmSPM.Scer\UAS.T:Ivir\HA1 under the control of Scer\GAL4ap-md52 results in dramatically reduced wings which resemble halteres. Expression of ScmSPM.Scer\UAS.T:Ivir\HA1 under the control of Scer\GAL4dpp.blk1 results in male progeny with an extra sex combs phenotype. Expression of ScmSPM.Scer\UAS.T:Ivir\HA1 under the control of Scer\GAL4dpp.blk1 in a ScmH1/+ background results in lethality. Expression of ScmSPM.Scer\UAS.T:Ivir\HA1 under the control of Scer\GAL4prd.RG1 produces partial antenna-to-leg transformations in females (males expressing ScmSPM.Scer\UAS.T:Ivir\HA1 under the control of Scer\GAL4prd.RG1 do not survive to adulthood). Expression of ScmSPM.Scer\UAS.T:Ivir\HA1 under the control of Scer\GAL4ptc-559.1 results in an extra sex comb phenotype in pharate adult males. Embryos expressing one or two copies of ScmSPM.Scer\UAS.T:Ivir\HA1 under the control of one copy of Scer\GAL4da.G32 are completely viable at 25oC. At 29oC, expression of one copy of ScmSPM.Scer\UAS.T:Ivir\HA1 under the control of one copy of Scer\GAL4da.G32 reduces embryonic viability to 51%, and expression of two copies of ScmSPM.Scer\UAS.T:Ivir\HA1 under the control of one copy of Scer\GAL4da.G32 results in complete embryonic lethality (less than 1% of embryos are viable).
