ScerGAL4NP6099 labels three adult lateral horn type II neurons in each adult brain hemisphere.
ScerGAL4NP6099 drives expression in one uniglomerular projection neuron innervating glomerulus DA1 and the antennal lobe hub.
The cell bodies of the cells expressing ScerGAL4NP6099 are located anterior-ventral to the lateral horn. These cells send projections to the dorsolateral part of the lateral horn and to the superior lateral protocerebrum.
Expression is observed in 2-4 projection neurons in the superior lateral protocerebrum.
lamina, with Wnt4UAS.WT
neuron, with Wnt4UAS.WT
Inhibition of synaptic transmission in Scer\GAL4NP6099 neurons leads to aberrant phototaxis behavior (low phototaxis index) towards blue (but not green or UV) light; navigation towards shorter wavelength of light (but not detection of ambient light) is impaired by silencing these neural circuits.
